Machine Structure
The X5040 vertical milling machine features high rigidity and stable, high-precision movement; its guideways are hardened for excellent wear resistance. The milling head can swivel 90 degrees within the vertical plane. With the installation of appropriate accessories, the X5040 vertical milling machine can perform various machining operations such as milling, drilling, boring, reaming, and surface grinding.
The X5040 vertical milling machine is capable of machining flat surfaces, grooves, helical surfaces, inclined planes, contoured surfaces, splines, and gears, making it suitable for metal processing and maintenance across various industries-particularly in the manufacture of tools, molds, and fixtures. Users can opt for an electronic or mechanical power feed unit to enable automatic longitudinal table feed. The milling head is available with either a belt drive or a gear drive.
1. Major components-including the base, machine body, worktable, middle saddle, and elevating saddle-are cast from high-strength materials and undergo aging treatment to ensure long-term operational stability.
2. The spindle utilizes a three-point support structure with tapered roller bearings, ensuring high system rigidity and load-bearing capacity. It features energy-consumption braking, providing high braking torque for rapid and reliable stopping.
3. The worktable features a horizontal swivel angle of ±45°, expanding the machine's processing capabilities. Both the main drive and the worktable feed systems employ gear-based speed change mechanisms, offering a wide speed range and convenient, rapid speed adjustment.
4. The worktable offers three feed modes-manual, powered, and rapid traverse-across the X, Y, and Z axes, with feed rates adaptable to diverse machining requirements. Rapid traverse allows the workpiece to quickly reach the machining position, enhancing efficiency and minimizing non-productive time.
5. Guideways on the X, Y, and Z axes undergo ultrasonic frequency hardening, precision grinding, and scraping; combined with a forced lubrication system, this ensures high precision and extends the machine's service life.
6. The lubrication system provides forced lubrication to the longitudinal, transverse, and vertical lead screws and guideways, reducing wear and ensuring efficient operation. Additionally, the cooling system allows for coolant flow adjustment via the nozzle to meet specific machining needs.
7. The machine is designed according to ergonomic principles for ease of operation; the control panel utilizes intuitive, symbolic graphics for simple and clear operation.
